God Bless You for bringing up “Quiet Promotion”. I’ve been blessed with well paying salary jobs that provided well but, especially in the pandemic, slowly creeped in terms of expectations for work and hours. Sometimes it happened slowly and sometimes it was disguised as a new exciting opportunity. Either way it’s real, companies will absolutely target high performers with even more productivity for less investment using this to cut costs in a recession, and all this REALLY makes me miss unionized work, even if it wasn’t as high paying or glamorous as tech - the boundaries and expectations of the job, salary, and work were MUCH clearer across the board.
